Scarlin Hernandez

Scarlin Hernandez is an Award-Winning Published Astronautical Engineer, Global Speaker, and Wellness Advocate. A trailblazer in STEM, she began her career as a junior engineer during college and quickly rose to prominence, leading high-profile missions, including NASA’s groundbreaking James Webb Space Telescope—the largest and most powerful telescope in history. She and her team were awarded a letter by the U.S. president for forever changing how we see and understand the Universe. Her pivotal role in this mission was spotlighted in Netflix’s acclaimed documentary UNKNOWN: Cosmic Time Machine.

In recognition of her contributions, she has a holiday named in her honor and a Proclamation in the State of New York. Scarlin’s message of perseverance and limitless potential has reached individuals across five continents, further exemplifying the global reach and lasting impact of her work. She has spoken for numerous distinguished platforms such as Harvard, the Cradle of Aviation Air and Space Museum, the U.S. Department of Education, World Space Week, and more. Her groundbreaking achievements have been honored by NASA, world leaders, and various organizations.

Scarlin is an honoree of Microsoft’s Legacy Museum, recognized for being a change-maker of our time and for her contributions to modern-day society. Scarlin was named one of Forbes’ D.R. 50 Most Powerful Women and received the Highest Honor from the Dominican President, along with medals from the nation’s Air Force and Army. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Oscar de la Renta Humanitarian Award and now assists in the creation of the Dominican Republic’s first space agency.

Scarlin’s academic excellence earned her a full scholarship from the National Science Foundation to Capitol Technology University, where she began her NASA journey. By age 20, she was already sending commands to satellites in space, proving that resilience and limitless thinking can transform the impossible into reality. She has also contributed to NASA’s Nancy Roman Space Telescope, which will explore dark matter, dark energy, black holes, and the universe’s accelerating expansion.

From overcoming homelessness and hardship to leading high-profile missions, Scarlin’s journey exemplifies the power of coding your mind for astronomical success. She also starred in "100 Millennials Shaping Our World" and Caribbean Cinema’s “Orgullo de Quisqueya”. Scarlin is also an Energy Master and Mystic in the wellness space who has channeled miracles both within and beyond Reiki healing.
